Last year we upped our game significantly: across the network we put more time and money into original reporting, deep-dive investigations, regional coverage, and The White Saviors. 

We did all of this while expanding our staff, working with our new union towards our first collective agreement, and paying more contributors better rates than ever before. 

We want to sustain our new standards and improve on them. To do that, we need more support strengthening the backbone editorial budget of Canadaland!

CANADALANDBACK hosted by Ryan McMahon


Canadaland’s flagship show will become CANADALANDBACK, for a set number of episodes per year. 

We want to make space for Indigenous coverage of Indigenous issues, by regularly handing the reins of our Monday show to a team of Indigenous journalists. 

We will collaborate with Ryan and his producer who will steer topic selection and content.

Building on the success of our trial French-language episode of Short Cuts, we will regularly produce and publish a French-language media criticism podcast. 

To do this, we need more than French-speaking hosts - we need editorial oversight and production staff to also be fluent.

How do I listen to subscriber-exclusive podcasts and content?

We will provide you with a unique podcast feed that you'll be able to add to your favourite podcast player. Adding this feed to your favourite podcast player only takes a couple of taps. We currently support Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Castro, Overcast, Podcast Addict, Pocket Casts, Podcast Republic, Downcast, RSSRadio, Podkicker, and more. Unfortunately we aren't able to support Stitcher, or any other podcast player that doesn't support importing private feeds.
